Many were doubting whether or not it was the right decision for Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce to return for his 13th NFL season, and after a so-so first three weeks, that made sense.
But Kelce, along with the rest of the Chiefs offense, has begun to find its feet in the season, and over the past three weeks, has started to hit its stride.
For Travis, he's posted 48, 61, and 78 yards in his last three games, along with a touchdown from his combined 18 receptions, as he now leads the Chiefs in receiving yards and is second in receptions and touchdowns.
And head coach Andy Reid knows why Travis has been able to begin the season the way he has.
“He came back in great shape,” Reid said. “I think he's been playing well all along, particularly these last three weeks. So, he came back in good shape, though. That and at his age, that's important. That's a big thing.”

Kelce key to Chiefs' 2025 hopes?
The 30-27 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday night showed why Kelce is still so valuable to this offense, totaling 78 yards from his six receptions, as he and Patrick Mahomes connected several times to keep the chains moving.
The ultimate security blanket, Kelce is beginning to remind us that there is still juice left in the tank, and yeah, we get it, it's only a small sample size, but with Rashee Rice back, maybe as early as Week 7, to have him, Xavier Worthy, Marquise Brown, and Juju Smith-Schuster, Kelce might be forgotten.
That is a lot of weapons to have to deal with, and we know defenses can't stop them all. Against the Lions, Kelce showed up time and time again, as he often has throughout his career.
Last season wasn't the sort of output Travis wanted, so he's come back in good shape and is now reaping the rewards.
