The Michigan high school football season is heading into the final weeks of the season as clubs try and make a final push towards making the playoffs. Which teams from the Wolverine State are featured in this week’s set of Top 25 rankings?

Detroit Catholic Central remains the No. 1 after a 48-7 victory over St. John’s Jesuit. With multiple matchups on the slate involving Top 25 teams, this week’s schedule figures to shakeup the rankings quite a bit come next week.

The Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.

Here is the latest Michigan high school football Top 25 rankings, according to Massey as of Oct. 13.

1. Detroit Catholic Central (7-0)

The Detroit Catholic Central Shamrocks (7-0) have been on an absolute roll to start the season as the team has raced out to a 7-0 start behind the steady play of their offense. The Shamrocks dominated St. John’s Jesuit last week in a 48-7 beatdown.

With Michigan State receiver commit Samson Gash leading the way with 25 catches for 490 yards and eight touchdowns, there’s very few teams around Michigan that can feasibly slow them down.

Up next for Detroit Catholic Central is a matchup against Grand Ledge before closing out the regular season against Martin Luther King Jr.

2. Hudsonville (7-0)

The Eagles (7-0) are a Michigan state championship runner-up from the 2024 season and have emerged as one of the state’s top programs on a weekly basis.

Hudsonville had been dominant at the early onset of the season, but have had a couple close calls in the last two weeks of play. The Eagles narrowly defeated Rockford, 35-28, and just edged out East Kentwood last week, 43-42.

In the last two games of the season, the Eagles will go on the road to take on Grand Haven and Grandville.

3. Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Prep (5-1)

The Eaglets, the defending Div. II state champions had kicked off the 2025 campaign by dismantling Portage Northern in a 41-0 decision.

Orchard Lake St. Mary’s quarterback Jabin Gonzales has been one of the state’s top quarterbacks and the junior signal caller will need to be at his best as the Eaglets look to close out the regular season with two more victories. With an offense that’s averaging an impressive 38.5 points per game, a lot will be on Gonzales and crew to keep the scoring average up.

To finish out the season, the Eaglets take on Brother Rice and River Rouge, respectively.

4. Harper Woods (7-0)

The Harper Woods Pioneers (3-0) make their way inside of the Top 5 this week coming off of a thrilling 41-32 victory over Saline last week.

The Pioneers have one of the best wide receiving corps in the state, led by a pair of four-stars in junior Dakota Guerrant and sophomore Deandre Bidden. Harper Woods’ offense is averaging over 35 points per game, making it one of the most consistent in the state.

Next up for the Pioneers is a showdown with Ferndale at home.

5. Clarkston (6-1)

The Clarkston Rams (6-1) cracks the inside of the Top 5 of this week’s rankings after a 38-10 victory over West Bloomfield.
