Report: European club make forgotten Chelsea ace primary January target, set to open negotiations

Turkish club Besiktas want to sign forgotten Chelsea defender Axel Disasi in January according to reports.

Disasi was available all summer after spending the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, but despite interest from a number of clubs he ended up staying at Stamford Bridge.

The France international is part of the now infamous “bomb squad” with Raheem Sterling, and is training away from the first team.

Besiktas interested in Axel Disasi

Disasi reportedly turned down three loan offers from Premier League clubs on deadline day, and now faces a bleak few months in the wilderness until January.

Chelsea are said to be working on finding Disasi a club for January, whilst a late move to Monaco reportedly fell through.

Despite Chelsea having somewhat of an injury crisis at centre back in recent weeks, Maresca confirmed there was no way back into the fold for Disasi.

However, there could be some light at the end of the tunnel, and Fotomac have reported Besiktas are expected to enter in negotiations with the Blues for Disasi once the January window opens.

The report adds if Besiktas can’t agree a deal for the former Monaco man they will turn their attention to Leicester City’s Wout Faes.

Disasi was linked with Besiktas in the summer, but a move never materialised, although it appears that could change come January.

Raheem Sterling difficult to move on

Whilst it appears Disasi will have some interest in January, it’s unclear whether the same can be said about Sterling.

Sterling is believed to have had interest from five clubs in the summer, but his preference to remain in London made a move difficult.

The England international is on reported wages of in excess of £300,000 per week, and more than anything Chelsea will want all or some of those off their books as soon as possible.

Whether anyone comes in for Sterling remains to be seen, and terminating his contract could be a possible route the Blues look to go down.
