Chelsea are keeping a close eye on Lazio centre back Mario Gila with Brighton also interested according to reports.
The Blues lost Levi Colwill to an ACL injury before the start of the season, and despite public pleas from Enzo Maresca for a new centre back his wishes weren’t granted.
Chelsea have had issues at centre back, especially with injuries in recent weeks, whilst a number of mistakes have been made which have cost the Blues points.
Chelsea keeping close eye on Mario Gila
Chelsea are set to have Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana and Tosin Adarabioyo available for the Nottingham Forest game on Saturday, after the trio missed the win against Liverpool.
Benoit Badiashile and Josh Acheampong started that game, but both went off in the second half, although their injuries aren’t thought to be serious.

Whether Chelsea go in for a centre back in January remains to be seen, whilst they also have the option to recall one of Mamadou Sarr or Aaraon Anselmino who are out on loan.
However, Football Insider have reported Chelsea are keeping an eye on Lazio’s Gila, with Brighton also said to be interested.
The report adds Chelsea are admirers and have watched the 25-year-old on several occasions already this season.
Chelsea were linked with Gila over the summer, who started 31 games for Lazio last season. but the Spaniard is out of contract in 2027 and interest seems to be growing.

Trevoh Chalobah had played every game before he got sent off against Brighton, whilst Wesley Fofana had started back to back games before suffering concussion against Lincoln.
Perhaps Maresca sees that duo as his best pairing, but whoever it is, he needs to decided and stick with it, as you don’t want to be chopping and changing throughout the season.
