CeeDee Lamb, and in fact a number of offensive players, are getting healthier. Are trade reinforcements on the way? Dallas Cowboys news updates.
CeeDee Lamb practiced for the Dallas Cowboys Wednesday, the first time he's been listed as limited for practice since suffering a high-ankle sprain in the loss to Chicago on Sept. 21.
Dallas, in general, seems to be getting healthier, though most of the injury issues have been on offense, which isn't the problem.
The defense is the problem. Could there be help on the way? At the moment, speculation is on a running back from the Jets, and while running back doesn't seem to be a pressing need, part of the idea is a more long-term fix.
Here's what's up:
Dallas Cowboys injury report: Will CeeDee Lamb play?
All indications point to star receiver CeeDee Lamb being ready to play this Sunday against Washington. Lamb was listed as limited in practice Wednesday, but limited in mid-week usually means a go by Sunday.
Coach Brian Schottenheimer was asked what Lamb would need to show in practice to be declared ready for Washington, and Schottenheimer said, "If he's breathing, I'm good."
Other players listed as limited for Wednesday's practice include returner KaVonte Turpin, offensive linemen Tyler Smith and Tyler Booker and end Marshawn Kneeland. All are expected to play against the Commanders.

Dallas Cowboys trade rumor: Do they really need a Jets RB?
The Cowboys' 11 biggest needs would seem to be an entirely new cast of defensive players, but that's not where current speculation is leading.
As good as Javonte Williams has been at tailback, New York Jets running back Breece Hall might be a bit of an upgrade, and that noise got louder when he posted on Instagram, "They want me to lay down but I got sum to stand for… #Free20."
What exactly he meant is a cypher he isn't likely to shed light on, but if he's unhappy, there isn't much reason for New York to keep him. The Jets are 0-6, Hall is in the fourth and final year of his rookie contract and he has 88 carries for 410 yards through six weeks (a 4.7-yard-per-carry average).
He would likely come cheaply. Dallas could probably get him for a fourth-round pick, and at just 24 years of age, Dallas could look to resign him and make him the future of the position.
Williams is averaging 15 carries per game and is on his way to a career year, but his backup, Miles Sanders, is out for the year, and his new backup, Jayden Blue, is a rookie. Adding Hall would make Dallas better in the backfield, though that doesn't seem the biggest need.
Having said that, Sporting News speculated Dallas could go get Miami Dolphins second-year running back Jaylen Wright, who the Cowboys took a long look at before last year's draft. Speaking of cheap, Wright has zero carries this year as the third-team running back for a 1-5 team.
More Dallas Cowboys trade rumors: USA Today list includes two edge rushers
Since owner Jerry Jones has left open the door to a trade, Dallas is full of draft assets and cash after jettisoning Micah Parsons, and Jones seems to think the Cowboys can be a contender; speculation is everywhere.
The USA Today put together a list of six possible trade targets for Dallas, which included two edge rushers, three defensive backs, and oddly a wide receiver.
Here is who they listed, in order:
Edge Danielle Hunter, Houston Texans; cornerback Trent McDuffie, Kansas City Chiefs; safety Jessie Bates III, Atlanta Falcons; defensive back Jalen Pitre, Houston Texans; wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins; edge Montez Sweat, Chicago Bears.
Of those, it's hard to see Chicago or Kansas City, or even the 3-2 Falcons, selling, particularly players helping them now. The Houston Texans edge rusher Hunter or defensive back Pitre would seem to make the most sense.
As for Waddle, this article is projecting the possibility that Lamb will be somewhere else next year when his contract is up.
What about CJ Gardner-Johnson?
The seventh year safety is free for anyone to pick up after the Baltimore Ravens released him after one week on the practice squad.
Dallas has expressed no interest, and he was just released after one week by a team with a defense almost as bad as Dallas'.
