Get the best Saints vs. Bears predictions ahead of Sunday's clash at Soldier Field. Free NFL picks for October 19.
The New Orleans Saints finally got their first win of the season last week against the New England Patriots, and now an ever-improving offense will get a crack at a weak Chicago Bears defense in Week 7.
We’ll explain in our Saints vs. Bears predictions why New Orleans should command some respect here, even with a mediocre defense, in a game that could be stolen away by the road team.

Saints vs Bears prediction
Saints vs Bears Best bet: Saints +4.5 (-110)
The New Orleans Saints aren’t a team that caught the eye of many entering the season, but after the last two weeks, we may have to reassess.
I mean, it’s not like New Orleans is actually winning games — and has struggled mightily on the defensive side of the ball — but this young offense is beginning to round into form under Spencer Rattler. He does have some great playmakers, and through six weeks, he’s thrown just one interception while his efficiency continues to improve.
Rattler completed a season-high 76.9% of his passes in last week’s win over the Patriots, and while his line has failed to protect him well, he’s managed to limit the damage to just 11 sacks in total — and two in the last two weeks.
With that, I think the Chicago Bears could be in some trouble. They rank towards the middle of football in coverage according to Pro Football Focus, and their run defense has just snuck outside the bottom 10 in the league. The Washington Commanders converted on plenty of red zone trips last week with Jayden Daniels shining through the air, and while Rattler doesn’t offer as much in name value, he’s quickly changing his narrative.
Chicago shouldn’t be able to get much done on the ground here against one of the 10 best defenses against the run by DVOA, and that’s going to put the onus on Caleb Williams to beat this weak secondary all by himself. I don’t believe he’s got the goods to do so, and to make matters worse, D’Andre Swift is dealing with a groin injury. This is too much respect for Chicago.
Saints vs Bears same-game parlay
While Rattler’s completion percentage is high, and his yardage output has been rather low, it doesn’t mean this team hasn’t taken shots down the field. In fact, New Orleans’ 23 passing attempts of at least 20 yards downfield are tied for 11th in the NFL, but it hasn’t been able to convert a ton of them. Well, the Bears rank dead last in completion percentage on deep balls, and Chris Olave is coming off a game where he saw three targets on these throws, meaning the team leader in deep targets should have a good chance of hitting one home run.
I also want to pick on this Saints secondary, which has been bad, and I’ll do that with Olamide Zaccheaus, who’s lined up on New Orleans’ weakest side of the field with free safety Justin Reid having a poor start to the year. Zaccheaus has been targeted just under five times per game and just played 84.4% of the snaps against Washington — a season-high.

Our big-ticket SGP: TEASER
The Bears are allowing 156.4 rushing yards per game this season and 5.7 yards per carry, both of which rank 31st of 32 teams thus far. We’re going to have to find a way to exploit them, and I think backup Kendre Miller is the answer. He’s now seen a sturdy 39% of the snaps as he gets acclimated to the offense, and with a ton of running on the menu, he should see that number rise. I’m also backing Williams on the ground, given he may not have many options to move the ball against a sound run defense. New Orleans has allowed the fourth-most rushing yards to opposing quarterbacks this season.
