TreVeyon Henderson is an exceptionally talented rookie running back for the New England Patriots.

He's been drawing attention for a different reason, though. The last name on the back of his jersey is really small.

That's not how anyone else's last name looks for the Pats, or any team for that matter. And it's not a one-game thing, either. Henderson's last name is always that tiny on his Patriots jersey.

There's a real reason why.

Why is TreVeyon Henderson's last name so small on his Patriots jersey?

The last name is small because of the specific jersey type Henderson wanted.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini got to the bottom of it with this report:

"I was told Henderson prefers a jersey cut in which the stripes sit tight against the nameplate. To keep those stripes visible, the equipment staff has to squeeze the lettering, which is why his name looks bite-sized. Stefon Diggs is the only other Patriots player who wears that specific style of jersey, but his shorter last name means the typography isn’t an issue."

Henderson had been asked by the Boston Herald about it and didn't even know the full reasoning himself.

"I low-key like it," Henderson told the Herald's Andrew Callahan.
