Good morning, all you hoddlers. For those of you who missed Tottenham’s game against Slavia Praha (like fitzie), you might’ve also missed Heung-min Son’s return to North London (like fitzie).
Thankfully, Tottenham have been on a social media tear with Sonny’s return. How could they not? After all, his decade-long stint at the club ended with him captaining the side to the Europa League title. What a legend!
Here’s one of my favourites:
Sonny was also presented with a mural of himself in North London before the gane, with the mural featuring his signature camera celebration. And it also shows Sonny lifting the Europa League trophy with the Korean flag wrapped around his waist.
I’m glad Son was finally able to say a proper farewell to Tottenham. It felt far more deserving of his storied career at the club than saying goodbye during a preseason friendly in another country.
It’s also still so strange to me that he’s playing for another club, and that the club happens to be in Los Angeles. I think when he mentioned all the fans should see him in LA is when it really struck me that he’s actually gone.
But it was a lovely reunion and I’m thrilled with the reception he got from his teammates and friends.
