Christantus Uche has remained patient for starting opportunities since his summer move to Crystal Palace.
The Nigerian attacker is yet to start in the Premier League this season, but was handed a starting berth for the Eagles trip to Shelbourne on Thursday.
And the 22-year-old re-paid Oliver Glasner's faith by finishing a well-worked goal after just 11 minutes.
Uche was well placed to tap in from Eddie Nketiah's low cross for his first goal in red and blue.
