HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — For the first time ever, the Heisman Trophy has been awarded to an Indiana Hoosier.

On Saturday the award was presented to Indiana University quarterback Fernando Mendoza.

Mendoza threw for 2,980 passing yards and 33 touchdowns while leading the Hoosiers to their first ever undefeated season and first Big 10 championship since 1967.
