The New Smyrna Beach Barracudas beat Seminole 2-1 Friday, giving coach Brandon Cisneros the 100th win of his seven-season tenue.
It didn’t take Brandon Cisneros long.
In his seventh year as New Smyrna Beach boys soccer coach, he hit 100 career wins Friday, Dec. 19, as his Barracudas rallied past Seminole 2-1 at New Smyrna Beach Sports Complex. They trailed 1-0 at halftime.
New Smyrna Beach’s overall record under Cisneros stands at 100-22-19. With the win over the Seminoles, it improved to 7-1-1 this season.
The last three years have been the most successful of Cisneros’ tenure, which began with the 2019-2020 season. The Barracudas maintain a streak of three straight regional finals appearances.
They’ve also won three consecutive Five Star Conference championships and three straight district titles. NSB captured a district crown in 2021 as well, giving it four under Cisneros’ leadership.
It has qualified for the playoffs each of the last six seasons.
During Cisneros’ debut campaign, his Barracudas posted an 8-7-3 record. They jumped to 12-5-4 the following year and 13-5-3 in 2021-22.
In his fourth season, New Smyrna Beach sprinted to the regional finals — the state’s Elite Eight — with an 18-1-1 mark. It rattled off a 25-2-1 record in 2023-24 and was 17-2-6 last winter.
The Barracudas have also thrived in the classroom. In 2023 and 2024, they secured the highest team GPA in their classification.
New Smyrna Beach will have some time to celebrate the milestone victory. It won’t return to the field until Dec. 29, when it faces Ocoee at 2 p.m.
