Devastating news for Real Madrid.
Real Madrid attacker Kylian Mbappé suffered a knee injury during Wednesday’s training session and will be out for at least three weeks, according to a report from L’Equipe. Therefore, Mbappé will miss the upcoming Spanish Supercup, which seems to be a season-defining tournament for Los Blancos.
L’Equipe’s report also indicates that the ligaments on his knee have been affected, meaning that he could need to miss some more time depending on how he reacts to treatment.
This is obviously a devastating injury for Real Madrid, given that Mbappé had been the undisputed leader of the team’s offense, with Los Blancos struggling to find any kind of production from the rest of their attackers. Still, the main priority for Real Madrid is that Mbappé makes a full recovery from this injury so that he’s able to play and make an impact this season.
