The main fallout which has taken place behind the scenes is between Enzo Maresca and Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali according to reports.

Maresca and Chelsea could part ways imminently, and it appears things have taken a turn for the worse after the draw against Bournemouth on Tuesday evening.

The Italian is thought to have an internal problem at Chelsea, and believes he’s had a lack of support internally, after certain games.

Things have clearly been bubbling away behind the scenes since Maresca’s comments after the win against Everton in December.

The Italian cited the previous 48 hours before that game as his worst at the club, which isn’t believed to have gone down well with the hierarchy.

You can tell Maresca hasn’t been his usual self since those comments, and the Blues haven’t won a Premier League game since, and finished December with one win in seven league matches.

Maresca has clearly fallen out with the club’s sporting directors, and reporter Alex Crook has provided a further update.

He took to X.com and said:

“Understand main fallout at #CFC is between Maresca and co-owner Behdad Eghbali.”

It will be interesting to see if Maresca even makes it to the game against Manchester City on Sunday, but at the moment that looks unlikely.

Who will be next Chelsea manager?

Like all clubs the Blues are likely to have had contingency plans in place for such eventualities, but who they could get mid-season remains to be seen.

The obvious name is Liam Rosenior given the relationship with Strasbourg, and Chelsea reportedly admire the Englishman.

Other names who could be of interest are Andoni Iraola and Oliver Glasner, both who are out of contract at the end of the season, whilst Xavi Hernandez is a free agent and could potentially be of appeal.
