Basketball roundup: Portland girls win fourth straight

GIRLS

PORTLAND 69, GRAND LEDGE 26

PORTLAND —Lilly Thelen had 17 points and Claire Lyon scored 16 points to lead the Raiders in a nonleague win over Grand Ledge. Leigha Roberson had 12 points and Summer Stopczynski contributed 11 points for Portland (4-1).

ITHACA 69, LAKEVIEW 26

LAKEVIEW — Libby Maurer led the Yellowjackets with a game-high 25 points to help Ithaca secure a win over Lakeview (0-4) at the Lakeview Holiday Tournament. Alyssa Polash and Riley Skinner each chipped in 12 points for Ithaca (3-3).

BOYS

BATH 57, FULTON 42

Connor VanEss finished with 16 points to lead the Bees in their nonconference victory over Fulton. Luke Wallace had 11 points and six steals, Aiden Wolf had 11 points and Aden Briggs finished with eight rebounds for Bath. Bryson Sattler had a game-high 22 points for Fulton.

ALMA 57, HEMLOCK 33

HEMLOCK — The Panthers jumped out to a 12-4 lead in the opening quarter and maintained that the rest of the way while recording a victory. Penn Seeley had 19 points, five rebounds and four steals and Jamison Ferguson had 12 points for Alma (6-2).

NORTHVILLE 75, GRAND LEDGE 68

GRAND LEDGE — Braden James had 20 points, nine rebounds and three assists while leading the Comets in a nonleague loss to Northville. Maddox Newburg finished with 18 points and Brayden Sinko was also in double figures with 14 points for Grand Ledge.
