Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane loves working with Vincent Kompany

The English striker had big things to say about the FC Bayern boss.

Harry Kane is amongst the middle of a marquee year as the Englishman has cemented himself among the Ballon d’Or favorites for next year with an outstanding performance with Bayern Munich this season. A major reason for his success, as well as the team’s success, comes down to Vincent Kompany.

“I appreciate [Kompany] both as a coach and as a person. You can see how we play with the ball, and also without the ball. We have high intensity, high energy. But he also sets standards as a person and has clear expectations of all players. That’s important, and that’s how you build something. Our winning mentality is a big part of that. I’ve loved working with him so far and I’m looking forward to the new year,” Harry Kane told SkySportDE, as captured by @iMiaSanMia.

The Belgian manager has surely hit his groove with Bayern Munich this season and Kane has reeled in significant rewards for the play style. Looking back to Harry Kane under Thomas Tuchel, the striker was far less efficient in open play under the oft-criticized U-ball style that Tuchel has become infamous for.

While Kompany sure had his fair sure of doubters when he first joined the Bavarians, due to a clear lack of experience at the time, the manager has proved himself twofold. Time will tell if Bayern can bring in a Champions League this season but the Bundesliga champions have emerged as top candidates for the coveted prize.
