The Gophers add depth to their safety room
Southwest Minnesota State defensive back Parker Knutson has committed to transferring to Minnesota, turning down offers from Iowa and Iowa State. He was a two-year starter for the Mustangs who recorded 39 total tackles, one tackle for loss, eight interceptions, and six pass break-ups this season.
Knutson has two years of eligibility remaining.
Knutson adds depth to a safety room that already includes returning starters Kerry Brown and Aidan Gousby and promising young players like Garrison Monroe and Zack Harden. He could also see the field at the nickel position, where the Gophers are losing Darius Green and Jai’Onte McMillan to graduation.
