Did the Detroit Lions lose some grit, hunger in 2026?

Dan Campbell offered some interesting comments this week. Did the Detroit Lions lose their hunger in 2026? We discuss.

Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell has been leaving a few breadcrumbs over the past couple weeks in regards to his offseason plans for 2026. Last week, he warned of non-specific changes that are necessary.

“But what we do know is—one way or another—probably (that) is change is inevitable. Now, it may not be much, but there will be something that will change.”

Then, on Monday during the his end-of-season press conference, he spoke about getting back to where the team was at a couple years ago.

“I want to get back to some of the things we were doing a couple of years ago. And what I mean by that is just getting back to a little bit of what we did at the ground level, just a little bit of the way we train, the way we go about things,” Campbell said. “This is going to be a good training camp for us. We’re going to go back and really sharpen the sword a little bit. And I know that’s a ways off, but I think that’s the big thing.”

Again, Campbell avoided specific details, but followed that up with, “I’m not saying we weren’t hungry, but let’s get that hunger back, and we’re going to bring in some guys to compete.”

On this week’s PODcast, we discuss what offseason changes could possibly look like. What kind of coaching moves could be ahead? What will the future of the offensive line look like? What does Brad Holmes need to do differently this offseason? And, more importantly, did the Lions lose a little edge in 2025? And if so, how can they recapture that in 2026?

Most of that discussion is in the second half of our super-sized episode. The show kicks off with a recap of the Lions vs. Bears finale and talk about what that performance means for the 2026 Lions.
