Former CSU players Lloyd Avant and Rocky Beers have committed to join Oklahoma following the College Football Playoff appearance for the Sooners.
Two of Colorado State's top offensive weapons from the 2025 season are joining a College Football Playoff team.
Tight end Rocky Beers and running back Lloyd Avant both committed to Oklahoma on Jan. 5.
The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Beers joined CSU from Florida International ahead of the 2025 season and became the top receiving threat for the Rams as the season went on.
Beers had 31 catches for a team-high 388 yards and seven touchdowns. The seven TDs set a program record for touchdown catches in a season by a tight end. He has one season of eligibility remaining.
The 5-foot-10, 210-pound Avant was in his first year at CSU in 2025 after transferring from Tulsa. He ended 2025 with 90 carries for 436 yards (4.6 yards per carry) and five rushing touchdowns.
Avant also caught 24 passes for 261 yards and a touchdown. Avant was also CSU's primary kick returner, with 11 returns for 268 yards and a long of 50. He's expected to have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
More than 30 players from CSU's 2025 roster have entered the transfer portal as the Rams undergo a significant roster overhaul under new coach Jim Mora after CSU's 2-10 record in 2025.
