All-SEC Georgia football OT makes NFL draft decision

The Georgia Bulldogs are losing their top offensive tackle to the 2026 NFL draft and will have to replace at least two offensive line starters

The Georgia Bulldogs are losing star offensive tackle Monroe Freeling to the 2026 NFL draft. Freeling, a junior, will forgo his final season of college eligibility.

Freeling joins Georgia underclassmen Zachariah Branch, CJ Allen and Christen Miller in entering the draft. The 6-foot-7, 310-pound lineman is ranked as the No. 55 player in the draft and the No. 6 offensive lineman.

Freeling was a second-team All-SEC pick for his outstanding 2025 college football season. He toughed out a significant injury and played through the pain in Georgia's comeback road win over Auburn.

The talented offensive lineman from Charleston, South Carolina started in 13 of 14 games this season. He was excellent in pass protection and allowed just nine pressures. Freeling posted a pass blocking grade of 85.7, which was seventh-best among offensive tackles nationally.

Freeling's departure leaves a significant void for the Georgia offensive line. The Bulldogs have already lost starting offensive guard Micah Morris to the draft. Georgia awaits a decision from offensive tackle Earnest Greene. If Greene enters the draft, then Georgia will lose the majority of its offensive line starters from 2025.

One of Georgia's top depth options at offensive tackle, Bo Hughley, has transferred to Colorado.

Freeling thanked Georgia coaches, his family and his teammates before declaring for the draft. "After much prayer and reflection, I've made the difficult decision to forgo my senior season and declare for the 2026 NFL draft," Freeling said. "Thank you Dawg Nation."

Freeling's NFL draft announcement

Some NFL draft experts think Freeling could end up as a first-round draft pick.
