Princeton-Lakota West boys basketball showdown has changed sites

Two of the top boys basketball teams in Ohio will play each other in Greater Miami Conference play Friday, Feb. 6.

This week's high school boys basketball showdown between Princeton and Lakota West has been moved from its original site at Lakota West High School.

The game will now be 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6 at Xavier University's Cintas Center. The move came the evening of Feb. 4, a few hours after Lakota West announced that tickets had sold out.

Only the varsity game will be at Xavier. Lakota West announced that no passes would be accepted, and that the junior varsity and freshman games would be rescheduled.

The game matches not only the top two teams in the Greater Miami Conference but the top two contenders for the Division I, Region 4 championship. Lakota West (17-1) is ranked first in this week's Ohio Super 25 statewide media poll, and the Vikings (14-1) are fourth.

The matchup features three of the top college recruits in Ohio, Lakota West juniors Josh Tyson and Bryce Curry, and Princeton sophomore Kam Mercer. Tyson and Curry combine for more than 30 points per game. Princeton is also led by junior guard A'mire Gill averaging 19 points per game and senior guard Rognny Santiago at 15 ppg.
