Barcelona boss Hansi Flick was pretty coy this week when asked which player he would like to sign for the club given the chance.

The German coach saw Barcelona bring in just Joao Cancelo in the winter transfer market, although there is optimism the club will be more active in the summer.

Flick was asked about potential transfers this week at Mundo Deportivo’s Grand Gala and gave a pretty diplomatic response.

“Which player would I like to sign? It’s a difficult question because I think we have a fantastic team right now.

“Everything we do has to be smart. Deco is a great colleague, and we talk about everything.

“Every decision also takes into account the financial situation, but above all, whether that player can improve the team. If he’s a good person, if he’s a good teammate. That’s what we need: good people in this fantastic team.”

So, no names mentioned, but Flick highlighting how Barca’s financial situation continues to be a major factor when it comes to transfers and also making it clear that talent alone is not enough for him.
