The NFL season is less than three weeks away. You can still get a discount on NFL Sunday Ticket – and a freebie in some cases, thanks to Verizon.
The kickoff of the NFL regular season is rapidly approaching and if you are a football junkie or a fan of an out-of-town team, you will want to get connected with NFL Sunday Ticket.
For the third consecutive year, YouTube and YouTube TV will be the home for the NFL Sunday Night Ticket package, which includes all of the Sunday out-of-market NFL games not broadcast on local TV stations. The regular price for NFL Sunday Ticket (without YouTube TV) is $480 – $31 more than the early-bird preseason price last year, but just $1 more than the price on opening weekend 2024.
Subscribers may be able to benefit this year, too, by signing up early. New and returning subscribers can get discounts by ponying up for the service with YouTube and YouTube TV before the end of August – and other NFL partners including Verizon have deals, too.
The NFL regular season starts on Thursday, Sept. 4, with the Dallas Cowboys taking on the reigning Super Bowl champs, the Philadelphia Eagles, a game broadcast nationally on NBC. On Friday night, Sept. 5, YouTube will stream for free the Week 1 game between the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs from São Paulo, Brazil.
But NFL Sunday Ticket will come in handy two days later, on Sunday, Sept. 7, when eight NFL games in the 1 p.m. ET and 4 p.m. ET broadcast windows will air on CBS and Fox. NFL Sunday Ticket will include all of those games not broadcast by your local CBS and Fox channels.
How to get YouTube TV and NFL Sunday Ticket
You can subscribe to NFL Sunday Ticket as a standalone service, or you can include a popular add-on: NFL RedZone, a live TV show that tracks all the scoring in Sunday afternoon games.
You can also subscribe to NFL Sunday Ticket with YouTube TV, which has more than 100 live networks including local ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC channels, as well as favorites such as AMC, CNN, ESPN, Fox News, FS1, MSNBC, NBA TV, NFL Network, Nickelodeon, TBS, TNT and USA.
Between now and Aug. 31, new subscribers can also get a discount on YouTube TV with a NFL Sunday Ticket subscription. Here's the breakdown:
- NFL Sunday Ticket with YouTube TV: New customers can currently get NFL Sunday Ticket with YouTube TV for $276, or eight monthly payments of $34.50. That's in addition to the price of a YouTube TV account, which for new users is a discounted $49.99 per month for the first three months (a savings of $99), then $82.99 monthly thereafter (this is the offer that expires Aug. 31). Returning customers with YouTube TV pay $378 or $47.25 monthly.
- Most viewers will have the option to pay for NFL Sunday Ticket in up to 12 monthly payments. However, viewers in Colorado, Maine, Utah, and Wisconsin will see the option to purchase in only up to four monthly payments.
- NFL Sunday Ticket without YouTube TV: You do not need YouTube TV to watch NFL Sunday Ticket – although there are some advantages – and can purchase a season pass through YouTube Primetime Channels. New NFL Sunday Ticket subscribers pay $276 or eight payments of $34.50. To add the NFL RedZone channel, the total is $318 (or eight payments of $39.75 monthly). Returning NFL Sunday Ticket subscribers (who do not have YouTube TV) pay $480 or eight payments of $60 (when you add NFL RedZone, it's $522 or eight payments of $65.25 monthly).
- Month-by-month subscription: Don't want to commit to a full season of NFL Sunday Ticket? Coming in September, new subscribers will be able to pay $85 per month for a month-to-month plan, which you can cancel at any time. (You can add RedZone, which brings your monthly payment to $94). Returning subscribers with YouTube TV may pay $115 monthly ($95 with RedZone) or, if they do not have YouTube TV, $145 monthly ($155 with RedZone).
Is there a student discount for NFL Sunday Ticket?
Yes. Students can get NFL Sunday Ticket for $119 for the season and NFL Sunday Ticket with NFL RedZone for $129. To subscribe, follow the prompts from the YouTube site.
Are there NFL Sunday Ticket discounts for others including military and veterans?
Yes, veterans and those currently in the military, plus first responders, medical personnel and teachers can buy NFL Sunday Ticket for $198 or get it with NFL RedZone for $42 more. See the YouTube site for details on how to sign up.
Are there any other deals for NFL Sunday Ticket?
Yes, there are a couple NFL Sunday Ticket specials that might work for you:
- Verizon Wireless's NFL Sunday Ticket free offer and discounts: You can get a free NFL Sunday Ticket season pass from Verizon Wireless when you add a new line on myPlan with the purchase of a new phone or bringing your own phone to the provider. Those who switch to Verizon Home Internet can also get a free season pass. Current customers who are returning NFL Sunday Ticket from YouTube subscribers can also get more than 40% off the regular price. These offers end Sept. 23, 2025.
- Best Buy: You can get NFL Sunday Ticket for $258 – more than 45% off the regular price for returning subscribers – if you are a member of My Best Buy Plus ($49.99/year), which gets you free shipping, extended 60-day return window and other perks, or My Best Buy Total ($179.99/year), which includes those perks and more including 20% off repairs, protection plans such as Apple Care+ and 24/7 tech support.
