Egypt national team head coach Hossam Hassan has entered a plea for Mohamed Salah to win the 2025 Ballon d'Or just ahead of the ceremony slated for September 22.

Salah netted a total of 34 goals in 52 matches across all competitions while being a key player in Liverpool's Premier League title win last season. However, despite his contributions to the Reds, the 33-year-old star is unlikely to claim the Golden Ball this year.

Paris Saint-Germain's Ousmane Dembele, who recorded 35 goals in 53 club matches and won the treble with the French club, has been widely regarded as the favorite to win the Ballon d'Or this year. Barcelona's Lamine Yamal and Raphinha are also strong contenders for the award.

Now, while Salah faces an uphill battle, Hassan took to Instagram and made a passionate appeal for the Egyptian star to win the Ballon d'Or, urging 'football to be fair.'

What did Egypt boss Hossam Hassan say about Mo Salah?

In his post, Hassan wrote about the challenges Salah faced and overcame in his career, which makes him deserving of the Ballon d'Or.

"Considering the hardships he encountered along his journey, he deserves it.. Based on the size of the challenges you overcome, he deserves it. Measuring years of brilliance, excellence and creativity in the strongest league in the world, he deserves it."

"It is difficult to get to the top, but all the difficulty lies in continuing on the top, and he has reached the top and continued on it for many years thanks to God first, then his talent, hard work and determination until he became a role model for all success seekers.. Is it time for football to be fair and fair with them to choose the winner?"

"Our prayers and the prayers of all Egyptians and all Salah's fans around the world, that Salah should be the winner of the Ballon d'Or to be the best crowning of the career of a great player that may not be repeated again in our history of Egyptian, Arab and African football, but also international."

The 69th Ballon d'Or ceremony will take place at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, with several reports suggesting that Brazil legend Ronaldinho, who won the Golden Ball in 2005, will be presenting the award.
