Aidan Hutchinson had a wondrous showing in the Lions' win over the Ravens on "MNF."

The Detroit Lions were expected to face an onslaught of offense in their "Monday Night Football" matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.
John Harbaugh's side, for all of its drama, entered the contest averaging 40.5 points per game, the highest-mark in football. Fueled by perennial MVP candidate Lamar Jackson, the Ravens seemed well-equipped to create more magic against the Lions' defense.
To a certain extent, they did. Baltimore recorded 30 points on Monday night, keeping its string of high-scoring showcases alive.
But it wasn't easy. Detroit's defense may have bended at times. But it rarely broke, conceding just 318 yards in the game — 65 of which came on a consolation drive.
And no statistic displayed the Lions' defensive exploits more thoroughly than their sack total — they recorded seven on the night, bringing Jackson down the most times in his professional career.
Detroit was led by its captain, Aidan Hutchinson, who showed off his Pro Bowl talent in front of a raucous pro-Baltimore crowd — and his parents.
With that, here's what you need to know about Hutchinson's outing on Monday night.

The Lions received plenty of standout performances on Monday night. But few players stood out quite like Hutchinson, who burst through the mire to put Jackson to the sword.
Hutchinson tallied one sack on Monday night. He tacked on a two tackles, one tackle for loss and one forced fumble for good measure, making his impact felt across the board.

The Lions defensive end frolicked beneath the M&T Bank Stadium lights, prancing into the backfield with reckless abandon. He was at his most fearsome midway through the fourth quarter, recovering after attempting to wrangle Jackson to jar the ball loose from Derrick Henry. The turnover was momentous; Detroit scuppered Baltimore's fluidity, platforming the Lions' victory.

The defensive line crowded Jackson throughout the night, amassing seven sacks. Without the showcase, it's hard to imagine Dan Campbell's side would've been able to notch the win.
Jackson praised the Lions for their game plan following the game.
"Man, doing stunts and they had a spy and sometimes the spy was grabbing my leg," Jackson said. "Just what it was."

There were concerns that Detroit's rearguard would falter following Aaron Glenn's departure in the offseason. Three games is certainly a small sample size. But if Sunday's showing was any indication, the Lions still have plenty of fireworks in their defensive arsenal.
