A unique situation.
For the second straight week, Tennessee will be wear the orange britches with orange jerseys. Only this time, they’ll be doing it on the road in Starkville against Mississippi State. The unique situation stems from Mississippi State hosting a whiteout on Saturday, which will feature an all white look from the Bulldogs.
Tennessee made the announcement on Thursday morning.
There was some thought to wearing the ‘smokey grey’ look as they did against LSU back in 2022, but Tennessee opts for the more traditional appearance instead. The Volunteers haven’t really gotten off the beaten path of the traditional jersey yet this season.
We assume the grey uniforms will make an appearance during the Salute to Service game against New Mexico State, considering the jersey’s nod to the military. The ‘dark mode’ look could make an appearance against either Arkansas or Oklahoma.
Tennessee will step into a rocking environment on Saturday afternoon against Mississippi State with the cowbells clanging. It should be one of the more aesthetically pleasing sights you’ll see all year with the orange contrasting off of the whiteout scene.
Tennessee remains a 7.5 point favorite. Kickoff is set for 4:15 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
