Brando Pericic entered UFC’s heavyweight division in fashion earlier tonight (Sat., Sept. 27, 2025) at UFC Perth LIVE on ESPN+ from inside RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, cashing in on a debut on home soil with a terrifying first-round knockout (punches) over fellow Octagon newcomer, Elisha Ellison.
Pericic entered tonight’s debut matchup with Ellison as a decent betting favorite. The City Kickboxing heavyweight has showcased some devastating knockout power to start his professional career so most figured he’d be too much for Ellison to handle. However, anything is possible when two heavyweights start swinging and Ellison had finished 80% of his wins via knockout.
While Ellison showed a solid chin overall, Pericic had his way from the opening bell. After connecting on a bunch of hard leg kicks, Pericic started to let his hands go and overwhelmed Ellison, forcing him to back up and play a defensive fight. Ellison was eating shots along the cage before pulling guard, which allowed Pericic to unload thunderous ground-and-pound that eventually put Ellison out cold.
As if that wasn’t scary enough, it took Ellison a long time to regain consciousness. The heavyweight newcomer even needed to hit the Oxygen tank post-fight to get himself to his feet. Luckily, Ellison was able to make his way out of the cage after one of the most vicious finishes we’ve seen this year.
