Week 4 early game thread: A battle between undefeated teams in Tampa Bay

This is Week 4’s early game thread

There aren’t many, if any, marquee games on the morning slate in Week 4.

Michael Penix Jr. and the Atlanta Falcons look to get right against the Washington Commanders, who will have Marcus Mariota under center once again. Atlanta losing to a backup would drop them to 1-3 on the season after being picked to run away with the NFC South.

Speaking of the bottom of the barrel, the 0-3 New Orleans Saints travel north to take on the undefeated Buffalo Bills. Good luck, Spencer Rattler.

Joe Flacco and the 1-2 Cleveland Browns are headed to Detroit to take on the Lions. The Browns have been hanging around thanks to Myles Garrett and their pass rush, but the Lions are trending toward an elite offense. Jared Goff should have a field day in a double-digit victory.

A battle of 0-3 teams will face off in Houston between the Texans and the Tennessee Titans. C.J. Stroud looks bad. Most quarterbacks would if they were pressured on 40 percent of their dropbacks. Cam Ward looks to pull the upset.

Drake Maye and the New England Patriots host the Carolina Panthers in a battle of 1-2 teams. Mike Vrabel gets Christian Gonzalez back, which should be enough to slow down Tet McMillan.

Jaxson Dart makes his debut against Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers. Russell Wilson couldn’t have been worse through three games. We’ll see how a West Coast team handles an early start on the East Coast.

The game on the slate that’ll draw the most attention will be the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles team taking on the 3-0 fighting Baker Mayfields. Philly was lucky last week. I don’t think that’ll be the case two weeks in a row.
