The Dolphins have had their backs against the wall to open up the 2025 season, and Monday Night Football, they got their first win of the season. With the New York Jets coming into Hard Rock Stadium, Miami delivered a statement victory.

Tagovailoa advanced to 7-0 against the Jets, keeping him undefeated against his division rival in his NFL career.

In four of the seven games, Tagovailoa has thrown at least two touchdowns. He has a completion percentage over 70% and has thrown for 1,463 yards, 10 touchdowns and five interceptions. 

The next time the Dolphins and Jets face off is Dec. 7 at Metlife Stadium.

Tagovailoa had a new weapon at his disposal on Monday night in tight end Darren Waller, and the two conected early.

The Dolphins were facing a critical 3rd and long, and Tagovailoa delivered an accurate shot downfield to Jalen Waddle to keep Miami moving. 

A few plays later, Miami head coach Mike McDaniel opted to go for it on fourth & goal, and Tagovailoa threw his first touchdown of the game. The touchdown was to his new toy, Waller, who climbed the ladder and made an acrobatic catch. 

The Jets fumbled the opening kickoff of the second half, setting up Miami in opponent territory. Tagovailoa found Waller for their second touchdown connection of the night.
