Ipswich Town Women were unable to make it a double celebration for the club as they lost 3-2 at Sheffield United.

Kicking off just half an hour after the men's team, who beat Norwich City 3-1 in the East Anglia derby, they produced a stirring fightback from 3-0 down.

Rianna Dean scored twice but Bethan Roe was sent off with 10 minutes to go at Bramall Lane and Joe Sheehan's side were unable to salvage a draw from the WSL 2 game.

Ipswich had taken four points from their two previous matches but are next to bottom of the second-tier table following last season's promotion.

The Blades were playing their first match with Luke Turner in interim charge following the departure of manager Ash Thompson.

Amy Andrews scored a goal in each half for them after Charlie Devlin had given them a 14th-minute lead.
