Barcelona may have received a significant boost ahead of their upcoming fixtures, with reports from MARCA confirming that forward Lamine Yamal is on track to be fit for the El Clasico later this month.

The outlet mentions that the 18-year-old is currently undergoing an intensive recovery programme designed to reintegrate him gradually into the squad.

Estimates suggest he could even feature partially in the match against Girona before returning fully for the clash against Olympiacos and, ultimately, the high-profile Clasico.

It must be noted that the club’s medical and recovery staff are working tirelessly to ensure that Hansi Flick has access to all injured players as soon as possible.

The current list includes key names such as Yamal, Raphinha, Fermin Lopez, Gavi, Joan Garcia, and Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, with Yamal’s recovery naturally taking centre stage.

His demanding programme is aimed at reintroducing him to team training and matchday action without risking further setbacks.

Barcelona expect Yamal to return to training after the international break, providing him the opportunity to join the squad for the Olympiacos match.

Against Girona, he may not play the full 90 minutes, but could be included in the matchday squad and contribute depending on how the game develops.

This approach is intended to ensure his fitness ahead of one of the most important games of the season.

Yamal’s absence from the recent national team fixtures added some controversy.

Luis de la Fuente had initially called him up, only to withdraw him after receiving Barcelona’s medical report, which indicated a relapse of the injury he had been managing since the last international break.

Flick had previously expressed concerns over the player’s workload, stating that the player had played too many minutes with the national team, which complicated his recovery.

With careful management and a focused recovery plan, Barcelona are optimistic that Yamal will return in time to make an impact during the El Clasico.
