Fetuli Paea is recovering from a broken arm less than hour into his Dragons debut last weekend.
Dragons will be without new signing Fetuli Paea until December following surgery for a broken arm.
The centre fractured his right forearm less than an hour into his debut against Sharks on Friday night.
The 31-year-old will now miss at least the next four rounds of the United Rugby Championship and is a doubt for the start of Dragons' European campaign in the Challenge Cup.
"It's a shame because he was very good against Sharks. He carried and defended very strongly and has fitted in really well," said defence coach Dale MacLeod.
It is a blow for Dragons after the strong ball-carrying midfielder made an immediate impact on his debut at Rodney Parade, setting up two first-half tries.

Dragons are poised to ring the changes against Glasgow at Scotstoun given the trip comes just six-days before their first derby against Cardiff.
They are still without Wales hooker Elliot Dee (shoulder) and are said they will not rush flanker Thomas Young, who has yet to make his debut after injuring his hamstring in pre-season, following his move from Cardiff.
"Thomas was running pretty well this week and Elliot is looking to get back into work over the next few weeks," said MacLeod.
"They are vital to have around the place and they are still adding value."
