The are one of the many teams around the NFL that have teams circling for potential trade additions at the deadline. While players like Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed have garnered plenty of interest, one other player is very much in rumors.

The Saints' five-time Pro Bowl running back, Alvin Kamara, has been one of the most frequently mentioned names in trade talks. The veteran running back would help a lot of contenders, but to what extent the Saints sell off at the deadline is still not fully known.

However, according to a new report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the odds that Kamara is dealt from the Saints look very slim. Rapoport reports that the Saints aren't expected to trade away Kamara at the deadline.

The Saints are not expected to trade away Alvin Kamara by the trade deadline

"While New Orleans will continue to get calls -- and time will tell how receptive they are to trading starters -- Kamara isn't expected to go anywhere," Rapoport writes.

This report is a cut-and-dry report that points to the Saints keeping Kamara for the rest of the 2025 season. The 30-year-old running back is a nine-year veteran, with all of his time in the NFL coming with the Saints.

Moving on from him would be a huge step for the Saints to make, but it's not likely to happen this season based on this report. Kamara himself doesn't want to leave, and the Saints are, even with plenty of trade inquiries, aren't expected to move him.

"Sources say Kamara told Saints general manager Mickey Loomis that he'd like to remain with the franchise through the rest of his career," Rapoport writes, "which was the goal when he signed a two-year, $24.5 million extension last October."

New Orleans is expected to keep the five-time Pro Bowl running back, and if Kamara holds to he message he sent to Loomis, he'd retire with the Saints after the 2026 NFL season.

He could still sign elsewhere by then if his feelings change, but he'll be 32 at the start of the 2027 NFL season and would be heading into his 11th NFL season.

If Kamara decides to retire after 2026 and his 10th NFL season, there would be no qualms about his career. A 10-year NFL career is an impressive one, especially since Kamara was a five-time Pro-Bowler and also won the 2017 Offensive Rookie of the Year award, on top of his career totals.

In his NFL career, Kamara has 7,062 rushing yards on 1,616 attempts with 61 touchdowns to go with his impressive receiving numbers. Through the air, he's been targeted 749 times, and he's made 590 receptions for 4,839 yards and 25 touchdowns.

He's 14th on the active receptions leaderboard and is 7th on the active rushing yards leaderboard. Kamara has been a remarkable player his entire NFL career with the Saints.

While his season so far, 283 rushing yards with one touchdown on the ground to go with 17 receptions for 77 yards in five games, isn't his best, he's still a big part of the Saints offense.

New Orleans is expected to keep Kamara for the remainder of the 2025 NFL season, and likely through the end of 2026 to close out what would be a very impressive career for the third-round pick from the 2017 NFL draft.
