Dolphins DC pokes fun at Tua Tagovailoa's controversial players-only meeting comments

Apparently, the Dolphins media team didn't find Anthony Weaver's joke about coaches-only meetings funny.

Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver spoke to reporters Thursday and had a lengthy answer about what it's going to take the team's struggling defense to bounce back from a brutal start to the year. Near the end of his answer, he poked a little fun at Tua Tagovailoa's recent media faux pas.

"What I can promise you is to a man, everybody in this organization is committed to that. I mean, I've had coaches-only meetings where coaches don't show up," Weaver said with a laugh. "Just kidding. I promise you, there isn’t a man in this organization that isn’t working to get this right."

Apparently, the Dolphins media team didn't find the joke as funny as the reporters in the room.

When the team posted video of Weaver's press conference Thursday afternoon, they edited his joke out (skip to 10:28). The official transcript posted by the Dolphins also erased that part of Weaver's answer.

But video of the full answer was posted by C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald:

After a 29-27 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, Tagovailoa told reporters that some of his teammates have been late to, and skipped players-only meetings. He apologized for those comments Wednesday.
