Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans is stepping up his rehab from his hamstring injury that has kept him on the sidelines for the past three weeks.

With the Buccaneers at 5-1 and facing the Detroit Lions at Ford Field, Josh Grizzard's unit is going to need all the help it can get, and set to be without Chris Godwin and Bucky Irving, getting No. 13 back as soon as possible is what fans want to see.

But with Evans finally hitting the practice field, how did the veteran look as he looks to make his return?

"I mean, he was limited, he did some things," head coach Todd Bowles said. "Obviously, he did some things very well. We just got to monitor it throughout the week, but just to see him in a helmet right now, coming out there in the jersey and doing some of the things that he's doing is very encouraging for us."

Will Evans return in Week 7?

That would ideally be the plan for Evans, but as Bowles stated, he was "limited" in practice and not a full participant, so easing him back into action appears to be the way to go.

Given his age and the type of injury, the last thing Tampa Bay wants is for Evans to get injured again while trying to get back on the field sooner rather than being cautious with him.

It is encouraging that Evans is back on the practice field, and it is the first step in his return to the Buccaneers offense, and if he can suit up against the Lions, that would fill Tampa Bay with even more confidence that it can slay the Lions.
