Buffalo Bills get major surprising news on James Cook originally appeared on The Sporting News
The Buffalo Bills and running back James Cook have been in a long contract battle. Over the offseason, the Bills gave extensions to Khalil Shakir, Terrel Bernard, Christian Benford, and Josh Allen. Cook, however, remained without a deal, and still does as Buffalo is just days away from its second preseason game.
Cook began holding in last week, not dressing for practice but still being present around the team. He suited up to go through warmups for Buffalo's Week 1 preseason game against the New York Giants, but didn't play. According to head coach Sean McDermott, though, Cook's hold in looks like it's ending.
McDermott said in his press conference on Tuesday that Cook was expected to return to practice, per Alaina Getzenberg.
If Cook does practice with the team, it could be a sign of a deal getting done very soon.
